Montana’s meticulous attention to color selection enhances and amplifies the painting’s emotional resonance, using a carefully chosen palette of orange blue/green to bring this painting it’s warm an tropical atmosphere. In Montana’s careful colour study she created a green-blue that sits exactly inbetween the two shades, so that it appears both green and blue at once. Depending on the viewers distance and the time of day, the colour shifts, making the painting ever-changing.

This work is a unique, one-of-one painting by Montana Engels, created entirely through her signature hand-painted stripe technique. Through carefully painted lines, the image appears abstract up close and gradually resolves into detail as the viewer steps back.
