Inspired by the diversity of Miami, Kalatua was painted entirely at Miami, during Art Basel week, to then be exhibited at the Art Miami and Palm beach, art fairs. This painting exudes the calmness of the beach. The soft nude colours, sand mixed into the paint, an endless gaze towards the far ocean horizon and the vulnererability of her presence makes this painting have a calming effect on the viewer.
Represented by Contemporary Art Gallery USA at Art Miami 2025, USA.
This work is a unique, one-of-one painting by Montana Engels, created entirely through her signature hand-painted stripe technique. Through carefully painted lines, the image appears abstract up close and gradually resolves into detail as the viewer steps back.
