150 x 130 cm Acrylics & Mauritius beach sand on 3D canvas
The inspiration for this piece started with the texture of sand. Incorporating beach sand into my paint and wanting to match the same feeling that sand evokes, onto the subject of my painting. No specific model, just a feeling transferred into an own invented face, that for me, captures the essence of sand; It quiet wispers of the sea, the serene embrace of sun warmed grains and the soft delicate traces of eb and flow that the ocean creates in the sand.
The painting is a one-of-a-kind, hand painted stripes painting by Montana Engels.
Special about the technique is that Montana invented this way of painting and that when looking at it up close it looks abstract while the further you move away from the painting, the MORE detailed it gets.
